Plymouth 2010
Its all about the numbers this week - Greenbank have started the 2010 season strongly, with 8 races entered delivering 6 wins by an excess of 25 lengths!!
To commiserate a with the 2 boats that didn't bring home the bacon, well done to Alex in your novice single - its a lonely old race when you are starting out but you made an excellent start. The Mix Sen C 4+ started strongly and had all the makings of a win until.... a massive train wreck ended their chances. I too am partial to shell fish but mid-race is not the time to go fishing for them!! The WSC4+ took 6 points by 6 lengths - a cracking start to the scores on the board. Sarah, Bethan, Rosie and Amy, with cox Debbie In the MSC1x to quote my source "it was s**t start but got better" - well done to el capitan Aaron for recovering his posture and the race to take the trophy and the points. James showed them how to do it in the MSA1x - 'it' being winning by "a distance" Bethan and Rosie needed to keep their muscles warm between races and so went for a paddle in the double - i don't think i've ever seen anyone rating 18 spm in a race - cool, calm and collected ladies ;) Thanks for saving your energy AND winning by "a comfortable distance"! The mixed SA4+ was a really tight race .... compared to the others with a mere 2 lengths in it at the finish. Amy Sarah James and Aaron, starring in that particular number AND FINALLY ... the WOpen 8+ took a victory over exeter and dart totnes - we looked so amazing Reds didn't bother turning up for the start - 5 lengths, 9 smiles. Sarah, Bethan, Rosie, Amy, Beth, Debbie, Jo and Becky - with Aaron, our lightweight cox!! Anyone know any potential coxswains?!?!? So a great start all round. We're not heading to Wimbleball's regatta this weekend but don't worry, we hope to be there at the South Coast Champs! So next stop Dart Totnes on 19 June. See you there! Photos of the day are here!
